Ravendale

Our biggest cottage, Ravendale is the ideal choice for a larger family (you could bring the grandparents), or a group of friends wanting to spend some time catching up. It was converted from the original main barn and is full of character. There’s a distinctive arched facade, low arched windows on the first floor, along with Velux windows and oak beams.

Ravendale has reverse accommodation. Downstairs are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom (super-king option available – please request at time of booking). You’ll find the beds are all lovely and comfortable, made up with fresh white quality linen ready for your arrival. The bespoke décor includes handmade curtains with matching lampshades and coordinating cushions and throws. Plus the hand-painted solid pine furniture provides ample storage space, so you can unpack and make yourself at home. It’s the attention to detail that makes all the difference.

Upstairs the light pours in through the dual aspect windows, which are at floor height complimenting Ravendale’s bespoke design. So smaller guests (and dogs) especially enjoy the fantastic views across the courtyard to the front and gardens to the rear. To the left there’s an open plan fully-equipped kitchen (with a dishwasher and ample space for food storage) and dining area.

Across to the right is the light and spacious lounge, featuring exposed beams. Comfortable sofas with bright cushions add to the cheery interior. In contrast the richly coloured, handmade curtains give a cosy feel for when you want to hunker down in front of the log burning stove on those chilly evenings. Patio doors lead out from the lounge down into the shared gardens, perfect when the children are playing. You could take a cuppa down to join them and take in the beautiful views across Renwick Fell. Maybe you’ll be inspired to go for a nice long walk or bike ride whilst you’re here. We’re happy to recommend some good routes to help you plan your stay.

Ravendale has been accredited 4 Star Gold by Visit England.

This larger property can accept 3 dogs, so there’s no need to leave any of the family at home. (Based on a medium-sized dog).

If you are bringing the grandparents, but they’d prefer their own space, you could book Hazelrigg as well.
